Kaetlyn Osmonddrew out a crowd in Marystown to watch her make herOlympic debut on Saturdayin the team figure skating event.
Osmond, 18, is originally from Marystown and has been livingin Alberta for the past eight years.
She competed in the women's short portion of the team skate event at the Iceberg Skating Palace for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
She scored a 62.54 in her inaugural skate on Olympic ice, putting her in fifth place for the team skate portion.

The crowd looked on at St. Gabriel's Hall in Marystown as they watched Kaetlyn Osmond compete in her first Olympic Games.
Hometown support has been huge for Osmond, with people in Marystown preparing for her inaugural Olympic debutincluding her older sister Natasha, who Osmondcalls her hero.
Osmond is the first Olympian to come out of Marystown, and people from all over the Burin Peninsula plan to come together to watch the events at St. Gabriel's Hall.
Giant screens have been set up so people can watch Osmond on the big screen during her big events.
Tim Horton's has introduce a Marystown-exclusive treat the pink Kaetlyn Osmond donut to show just how much support she has from her home community.
Team Canada qualified for the next round in the team skate competition with 32 points, placing second behind Russia with 37 points and ahead of the United States with 27 points.
Osmond will skate on Sunday in the ladies'free skate portion at 12:30 NT.
After the team event, Osmond will skate again on Feb. 19 and 20 in the women's competition.
Osmond started skating at the age of two, and at 10, began her figure skating training in Edmonton.
